Role Summary:

The Claims unit specializes in the payment of benefits such as personal care, social transportation, etc. As a member of the Federal Administered Programs team, you will develop a high level of knowledge of the program in order to meet the needs of the clients and are accountable for the adjudication of benefit claims received by Medavie Blue Cross.


As a Claims Analyst your Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Reviews, analyzes, investigates and processes payment of VIP claims, such as Access to Nutrition, Personal Care, Home Adaptations and Ambulatory Health Care, all within specified guidelines;
  • Corresponds with claimants or agents;
  • Handle and process claims transactions accurately and efficiently;
  • Use business knowledge and experience to solve routine problems;
  • Produce clear and effective written materials.

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following Qualifications:

EducationPost-secondary education in a related field.

Work ExperienceMinimum one to two years’ work experience in an office environment.

Other QualificationsKnowledge of claims processing, eligibility and claims systems, as well as medical terminology is considered an asset.

Computer SkillsExperience working with the Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes.

Language SkillsProficiency in English is required (written & spoken). French would be an asset.
