The Technical Writer position in the NB Provincial Programs team is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining a wide range of online user manuals and training support material used by NB Provincial Program staff. Using specialized knowledge in editing and creating documentation, the Technical Writer is also responsible for proofreading documents on behalf of key stakeholders. For this position, we are looking for an original individual with creative qualities who is highly motivated, is an organized thinker with superior writing skills and has the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.As a Technical Writer, your Key Responsibilities will include:
As the ideal candidate, you possess the following Qualifications:
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to Medavie communication standards;
- Write and modify material provided by subject matter experts in order to suit the user;
- Work closely with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to secure and ensure accuracy of the information in all written materials;
- Research, develop, implement and evaluate strategies and related materials;
- Edit and proofread documents;
- Communicate reminders, updates or new items to relevant parties within NB Provincial Programs;
- Manage multiple projects, including negotiating timelines, defining project goals and ensure deadlines and service standards are met;
- Update and maintain reporting mechanisms for assignment purposes;
- Be a positive brand ambassador for Medavie Blue Cross.
: Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus in journalism, communication or related field or equivalent experience
: 1-3 years of work experience in the insurance industry
: Possess exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills; Possess in-depth knowledge of policies and practices related to our private book of business; Have high attention to detail, using logic and good judgment in decision making; Creativity and flexibility in your approach to meeting clients’ needs; Strong research, writing, editing and project management skills; Are well organized with the ability to work effectively within a team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
: Have strong computer skills using a variety of office software products including Word, PhotoShop, Visio, Excel, Captivate, etc.; Have some working knowledge of the different Medavie Blue Cross systems (ES, MS, Scepter, etc.)
: Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a compelling asset for this position.
