Role Summary:
In this role you will be responsible for processing and delivering incoming and outgoing mail in a high volume, fast-paced environment, as well as preparing payments and other materials for mailing.

As a Distribution Clerk your key responsibilities will include:

  • Sorting, opening and delivering incoming mail;
  • Processing all outgoing and request mail while ensuring the timely distribution of mailing materials;
  • Updating, preparing and mailing various manuals;
  • Operating various equipment to process cheques and documents including postage machine, inserter, mail opener and folder;
  • Maintaining mailroom inventory supply including but not limited to envelopes, forms and postage;
  • Providing exceptional customer service by maintaining or exceeding service expectations to both internal and external customers.

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

Education: High school diploma and/ or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience: Previous experience in a mailroom or a mail preparation centre.

Other Qualifications: Must be able to lift packages and boxes up to 25 kg and stand on feet for up to 7 hours/day; working knowledge of Canada Post shipping system, Canada Post VCD system, Purolator shipping system and Dynamax shipping system, are considered assets;

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Word and Excel;

Execution and Organizational Skills: Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently and is able to organize and deliver on specific tasks and milestones to achieve objectives.

Team Work Skills: Enjoys working as part of a team in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
