Role Summary:

The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for growing the Individual business by providing Life, Health and Travel solutions to new and existing customers, following an established sales process.
As a Direct Sales Representative, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Selling Medavie Blue Cross insurance products, including Health, Life and Travel insurance, capitalizing on sales opportunities from inbound customer calls, outbound calls resulting from leads originating from the website, and face-to-face interaction in order to achieve sales targets.
  • Analyzing customer needs in terms of product purchase and using problem solving skills to find creative solutions to meet client needs while providing a highly customer focused experience.
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with policyholders in order to retain their business and maximize sales opportunities and referrals.
  • Responding to client questions and concerns, including outbound follow-up activity, communicating final decisions before placement of policy and working with clients to resolve any post-sale service issues.
As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

Education:
  Post secondary education; education may be substituted for college education, especially if prior experience is in Health or Life Insurance sales.

Work Experience:
  Minimum 2-3 years sales experience in solution selling with a consultative approach.

Other Qualifications:
  Provincial Life, Accident & Sickness licenses; Incumbent will be required to pass the LLPQ program and Provincial exam within 4 months of hire; Valid driver’s license as some travel is required.

Computer Skills: 
Good working knowledge of computers in a Windows and Microsoft Office environment.

Language Skills:
  Bilingualism will be considered an asset for this position.
