What is a Canoe Challenge?
This day-long event focuses on teams of 12 persons racing for 200 meters in a war canoe. More than 1,500 participants and spectators enjoy the day competiting, and cheering from the shore - some even end up in the water! But that's not all... there is volleyball and an obstacle course challenge, a giant BBQ, children's activities, hourly prize draws, prizes for fundraising, a 50/50 draw, live entertainment and much, much more! During the lunch break we host a celebrity recreational canoe sprint of 10 two-person teams. The organizing committee is planning to make the 2007 Canoe Challenge better than ever so we can raise funds for much-needed equipment at the IWK and the families who use Ronald McDonald House.
This year the event will take place Saturday, June 23rd, 2007.
